The Cross of Nails

In one of the worst air raids of World War II most of Coventry, England was destroyed and the old Church of St. Michael was set ablaze. During the holocaust, hand forged 14th century nails rained from the beams of the roof to the sanctuary below.  After the war, a modern cathedral was built beside the burned out shell of old St. Michael. Today, amid the ruins which still stand, a blackened alter bears a small cross which parishioners fashioned from three of the old nails. Carved on the wall behind it are the words: "Father Forgive". ©

The Cross of Nails is available in either 14k yellow gold or sterling silver.  It measures about 1 1/8" tall including the bail.  Only sterling silver crosses include a lightweight sterling silver pendant chain. Usually ships in about 3-10 days. Note that a larger size is also available (over 2" tall) as a special order item that is not returnable. Please inquire for pricing.
